Caitlin MacBride
Assistant Professor

Caitlin MacBride鈥檚 work engages with material culture and artifacts to explore desire, history, and labor. MacBride鈥檚 oil paintings integrate various languages of art history with the structures of utilitarian objects sourced from museum archives.

MacBride holds a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and an MFA from the Milton Avery Graduate School of the Arts, Bard College. She is represented by Deanna Evans Projects. Her work has been exhibited at The Shaker Museum, where she presented the solo exhibition Palm to Poplar in 2024, as well as at Deanna Evans Projects, Moskowitz Bayse, Fisher Parrish, Chapter NY, Thierry Goldberg Gallery, Real Fine Arts, Greene Naftali, Zach Feuer, Jack Barrett Gallery, Hesse Flatow, and Neuer Berliner Kunstverein, among others.

Her fellowships, residencies, and grants include the 2025 Maker-Creator Fellowship at Winterthur Museum, the 2024 Peter S. Reed Fellowship, an Artist-in-Residence at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Lighthouse Works on Fishers Island, NY, and the Elaine de Kooning Memorial Fellowship. Her work has been written about in The New York Times, Artforum, Modern Painters, New York Magazine, and Vogue.com.

Prior to joining 91社区, she was Co-Chair of Painting in the MFA program at Bard College. She has also taught painting and drawing at Vassar College, Rutgers University, Parsons School of Design, and the Tyler School of Art.
